Every single year, people make lists of goals or changes that they want to achieve in the upcoming year. They want to lose weight, drink more water, travel more, ect. But almost always, they give up on the resolutions within the first 2 months. They lose motivation by taking on too much to fast, making unrealistic goals, or not truly applying themselves. So, I am going to share with you all, MY New Year’s Resolution AND how I plan to achieve it!
My NY Resolution is actually only 1 general goal that is separated into sections, much like a book has chapters. My resolution is simply, to be a higher quality person. I am sure that sounds weird, like what does that even mean? Well, I want to be healthier, learning, travel, being happier and spend as much time with my family as possible. My plan to achieve this is set up in small, realistic goals to make them more easily attainable.
1.) Being Healthier
November 12th, 2017 I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl which was undoubtedly one of the best days of my life. But as we all know, growing a baby does no favors for your body and I am ready to start getting back in shape. I know this is the most common resolution there is, but I have a plan to make it happen. I am going to work out atleast 3 times a week, drink more water, and slowly cut out sugary drinks and cut down on processed foods and carbs.
This one is pretty simple, I am a research addict. Anytime I am curious about something, a country, a person, a movie, an illness, zombie apocalypse, home repairs, DIYs, how to play a song on the piano or guitar, pretty much anything and everything under the moon, I research. I read articles and blogs, look at pictures, charts, and videos, that is how I learn. Along with my extensive internet research of random subjects as my learning outlet, I am challenging myself to read an 1 actual physical book a month. This will help me separate from so much “screen time” and still learn and grow.
3.) Being Happier and Spending More Time with Family
This one is what I am most excited about! How I am going to achieve more happiness and being able to spend more time with my family is by becoming a stay at home mom! Yes, quitting the 9-5 and earning money from home, while still being able to be with my precious baby girl and husband. This will allow me to watch her grow up so I don’t have to miss anything. Hopefully I can reach this goal sooner rather than later!
Well, this really relates to #3. By becoming a stay at home mom, I will not be tied down to a 9-5 schedule and will have the ability to travel. Some of our traveling plans for this 2018 is going to our family home in Florida over the summer, revisiting Cancun, Mexico in the fall, and heading up north to Maine, where my father is from and visiting some family. I would love to even make a few more trips but those are the ones we are already planning.
